Unemployed through no fault of your own You must file your initial application for benefits by telephone through the VEC's call center or over the internet. Be able to work and willing to work Be available to work with no undue restrictions on your availability for work Make an active search for work each week Report all refusals for job offers from any source. File your weekly request for payment of benefits in a timely manner. Minimum $3,000 to be earned in two quarters of base period in which total wages were the highest Eligibility:
1-Virginia Claimant has earned $2,700 in the two highest quarters of the base period combined 2- The base period is the first four of the last five preceding calendar quarters. 3- You must have certain financial qualifications during the base or alternate period to qualify for Virginia unemployment benefits. To maintain benefits, you must actively seek work. How long can you claim benefits: 12-26 weeks Weekly benefit amount: $54-$378 Determined by: two quarters with the highest earnings reported during the base period x multiplier Weekly Benefit – You must make your claim weekly to continue to receive benefits.
